You may have heard of Red Adair who was famous as an oil well firefighter in the 1960s and ‘70s.
One of his most famous sayings was:
“If you think it’s expensive to hire a professional, wait till you hire an amateur.”
Many people are pretty good at decorating but there are good reasons why you should hire a professional. Consider these points before you don your overalls:
• Do you really know how to do the job?
• Do you have all the equipment needed for the job?
• Do you have the time to do it yourself?
• Do you have the money to fix anything that might go wrong?
If the answer to any of these questions is ‘no’, then you really should be thinking about hiring a professional. Too often I get called in to finish off a job that was started with the best of intentions but abandoned half way through because of lack of experience or expertise.
