Robinswood Windows UPVC

These are photos from a recent job in Robinswood. The foils on the windows were failing and starting to lift and bubble. The windows were previously sprayed by another company, and it could be that the paint they used and how they were prepared could have been a contributing factor to why the foils failed over a number of years.

Using a heat gun to release the glue we stripped all the foils and cleaned the residue with a strong chemical cleaner

Following the removal of the foils, we proceeded to tape the windows to protect glass and areas that are not intended for spraying. Then we used a chemical cleaner to eliminate any grease or dirt. Upon completion, any imperfections were rectified using glaze putty. The windows, frames, and filler were then sanded with fine sanding pads. Finally, we applied another wipe with a chemical cleaner, ensuring they are now prepared for spraying.

Having all preparations and protections in place, we proceeded to apply a 2k paint specifically designed for upvc spraying. This product etches to the upvc with the appropriate preparation, ensuring its durability and finish are comparable to factory-produced windows. The frames received two coats of application. The first coat was a fine dust coat (1 pass with the gun), followed by a wet coat application ( 2 passes with the gun).
