The front door was in very poor condition and being a listed building, replacing the door was not an option. We burnt off all the existing paint to bare wood and repairs were carried out. It was then filled using a two pack wood filler. We then applied an aluminium wood primer due to it being a hardwood door. It was sanded down again with a fine sandpaper followed by 2 coats of undercoat and 2 top coats of external flexible high gloss paint.
  • Snug

Ceiling and walls were all re-plastered. We applied a sealer coat and 2 full coats of Farrow & Ball Estate Emulsion. All woodwork was new so a primer coat was applied to the bare wood, sanded down then 2-3 coats of Farrow & Ball water based Eggshell.
  • Sitting Room

The wooden floor was belt sanded with a specialist machine. When prepared we applied 3 coasts of “Liberon Natural Finish” floor varnish, which is water based with low VOC and is a quick drying floor varnish. After all ceiling and walls were prepped, filled and sanded, we discussed with the customer about what paint to use. We opted for “Farrow & Ball” product which is a water based, very low sheen level with minimal VOC’s an environmentally friendly paint. The woodwork was sanded and painted with Farrow & Ball water based Eggshell.
  • Utility

Ceiling walls were prepped and painted with Farrow & Ball emulsion. Tongue and groove hidden doors were constructed of MDF and we applied one primer, two undercoats and two top coats of Farrow & Ball water based eggshell paint.
  • House - External Walls

Preparation is the key here. Firstly we scraped all wall areas to remove any flaking paint, then touched in with a stabilising solution over bare brickwork, in order to seal the brick or render to allow the paint to adhere to it. Next we applied 2 full coats of “Dulux Weathersheild” Masonry paint, which is a flexible paint for all year round protection. The windows were prepped by burning off any flaking paint. We then hacked out any loose putty and replaced with new putting. Then applied a primer coat to bare wood and putty and 2 full coats of “Sandtex” Flexi paint for extra durability to cater for our climate and weather changes.
  • Kitchen

Ceiling and walls were all re-plastered and we applied a sealer coat and 2 full coats of Farrow & Ball Estate Emulsion (Heritage Colours). All kitchen units were hand made using Tulip wood. They were hand painted, so we primed the wood and then applied 3 coats of “Dulux” oil based Eggshell paint for a wipe-able and durable finish.
  • Kitchen

Firstly, all areas were washed down using sugar soap to remove any grease and grime. This was done so that the paint would adhere to all surfaces. All ceiling and walls were prepped and sanded down , painted with emulsion from the “Paint & Paper Library” range, which is suitable for interior walls and ceilings such as the hall, kitchen, well ventilated bathrooms or any other areas of high wear. It is a harder wearing water based paint, with a very low sheen level that is scuff resistant and wipe-able and also environmentally friendly with minimal VOC’S. Kitchen cupboards were sanded down and painted in the same brand but with a water based Eggshell. This is a protective low sheen eggshell and is an environmentally friendly paint with minimal VOC’S; an alternative to an oil based system.
  • Dining Room

Moved furniture and protected all furniture and flooring with dustsheets. Prepped walls, woodwork and ceiling. Applied coving to ceiling and paint applied. I used an oil based paint on the woodwork. Walls are cross lined prior to wallpapering. Wallpaper run horizontally for feature wall.
  • Hall/Stairs/Landing

Cleared hallway and placed dust sheets where required. Prepped walls ready for wallpapering by rubbing down and using quality filler. Prepped ceiling ready for painting and also fitted coving to ceiling. After preparation of the wall, the walls were then cross lined before hanging the vinyl wallpaper.
  • Hall/Stairs/Landing

Walls and ceiling prepared. Then 2 coats of Dulux Diamond Matt applied to walls and vinyl matt to ceiling. Wallpapered feature wall. The products used are great for high traffic areas.
  • Bedroom

All walls, woodwork & ceiling prepped. Painted with matt paint and woodwork finished with gloss. Wallpapered feature wall. One of the rooms were papered with the black wallpaper, the wall is painted black prior to applying the wallpaper making good for invisible seams to the wallpaper.
  • Kitchen/Diner

It was important to my customer that we choose the materials and products carefully as they wanted wipeable paint. We opted for Dulux Diamond Matt which is a tough, water-based matt emulsion paint that uses Diamond Technology from Dulux Trade, making it 10 times tougher than Dulux Trade Vinyl Silk and Dulux Trade Vinyl Matt. All walls, ceiling and woodwork was prepped. Painted in the Diamond Matt for durability and for the main feature wall, wallpaper was applied horizontally.
  • Living Room

Prepared ceiling, woodwork and walls. Painted and feature wall wallpapered.
  • Basement Stairs

Handrail and stair treads were stained, then varnished with “Liberon Natural Floor Varnish”, to give a hardwearing, durable finish.
  • Living Room

The ceiling was prepped, sanded and painted with 2 coats of Emulsion. We removed wallpaper from feature walls. We prepped wall areas and applied new finished wallpaper to feature walls.
  • Hall, Stairs & Landing

The customer made a request and asked if we could remove all paint from the handrail and stain it. We then burnt off all of the paint, applied a wood dye to get the desired colour and then 2 coats of Rosewood Stain varnish. We used a “Sadolin Extra Wood Stain” for extra durability. On the wood work there were hinges and a door latch had been removed. We made good by filling with a two pack wood filler where the latch had been. It was then sanded down. We then created the profiles of the architrive and when painted you could not see where we it had been filled and we pride ourselves on our attention to detail!
  • Bedroom

All the units were hand made out of oak. We applied “Osmo Poly Oil” which is most hardwearing and durable and is developed from natural oils and waxes for wooden furniture. We applied 3 coats of this, lightly sanding between coats and using a tack rag to remove dust before coating. The units were made by Shellam Joinery, Gloucester.
  • Exterior Cottage

Firstly all walls were washed to remove any algae, dirt etc. and then prepped. We used a microporous external paint which doesn’t hold moisture and allows the brick and render to breath. All woodwork was prepped, rubbed down and we applied one undercoat and two top coats of Sandtex flexi paint. All black beams were coated in Bedec paint. All windows were cleaned for a professional finish.
  • Exterior Property

All facias, soffits, windows and doors were washed down with sugar soap before preparation. Windows were in a poor state so we had to burn off all faking paint, remove loose putty, and prime all bare wood and then re- new the putty. We then applied one undercoat and two top coats of Sandtex oil based flexi paint. This paint adapts to our climate and flexes with changes in weather conditions; this lasts much longer than the traditional oil based paints. All black ironmongery was removed, prepped and painted in black metal paint. When all work was completed, we cleaned all glass to conclude.
